The Mer-Queen's Awakening
As an infant, Abyssal Princess Lyra is framed by her handmaiden Sera during the Awakening Ritual. Deemed color-tailed and sentenced to death, she is sent away from the Abyss by her mother Mira's self-sacrifice, while Mira herself is reduced to slavery for eighteen years. Eighteen years later, Lyra awakens her rainbow-white tail and journeys to the Abyss to find her kin. She rescues her abused birth mother, uncovers the truth of that night, defeats the Red Tide general, and gains the loyalty of undercover warrior Kaelen. She unveils the full power of her rainbow-white tail in public, strips Sera and her daughter of their tail colors, rejects her birth father Kael's belated recognition and plea, and reveals her Moon Shadow Prophet heritage, sending shockwaves through the entire tribe.
